We’ve seen some interesting trends recently, with many teams making trades that could be significant.
It looks like it will take another week before the draft picks are revealed.
Let’s take a look at the top teams and how they are doing in the process.
Edmonton Oilers The Oilers have had their best season in years and will be looking to make a run in the postseason.
The team has an incredibly talented group of forwards and it will be interesting to see how they mesh with the likes of Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel to create a lethal offensive line.
This season has been pretty good for the Oilers, who have not missed the playoffs in three years.
The only problem with the Oilers success has been the lack of depth in their roster.
That is now starting to change, however, with the additions of forward Sam Reinhart and defenseman Nick Schultz.
Reinhart, who was drafted by the Oilers in the third round, will provide the depth and depth is the key to a team that has the talent to make an impact in the next few years.
Vancouver Canucks The Canucks were the third worst team in the NHL last season.
They had a very good season, however they did not win many games, which is a concern.
The Canucks will look to improve on last season’s numbers with the addition of defenseman Ryan Kesler and forward Daniel Sedin.
Kesler is a dynamic offensive player who brings some offensive ability to the team, while Sedin provides the gritty type of play that makes up for the lack in offense.
Vancouver is looking to add some offensive firepower to a group that struggled to score goals.
St. Louis Blues The Blues are not only one of the best teams in the Western Conference this season, but they also have some talented young forwards that could make an immediate impact.
They will be relying on rookie forward Anthony Duclair to provide the team with scoring punch.
The young forward is a big, strong forward who has great skating ability and is also known for his puck possession skills.
He is likely to get his first crack at NHL ice time this season and will need to show off his offensive skills and defensive acumen.
San Jose Sharks The Sharks are coming off a season where they had the second-worst record in the league, but that does not mean that they are not trying to turn things around.
The Sharks have a strong young core that includes Joe Thornton, Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski, and Joe Pavelić.
The defense has the ability to make up for any deficiencies in the offensive side of the puck.
It is not clear if the Sharks will be able to build on their success this season.
The addition of Joe Pavelic is a huge piece to the puzzle for the Sharks.
New York Rangers The Rangers are going to need to find a way to score more goals this season to be competitive in the Eastern Conference.
They have the best defense in the entire league and have some of the most talented players in the draft class.
But, the Rangers have been one of those teams that are looking for an offensive punch.
They may not have a superstar like Joe Thornton in the lineup, but he will still have an impact.
Columbus Blue Jackets This team is one of my favorite teams of all time, but their offense is lacking.
The Blue Jackets have some strong forwards in the first round and have a great group of defensemen in Jyrki Jokipakka, Alexander Wennberg, and Ryan Murray.
Jokapakka is a power forward who can really score goals, while Murray can be a scoring winger as well.
Columbus will look for an offense that can create more offense with the help of some of their top prospects in the class of Ryan Murray, Zach Werenski, and Ivan Barbashev.
Winnipeg Jets The Jets will look very different this season with the arrival of Connor Hellebuyck.
Hellebiden will bring some offensive flair to the Jets, who already have some impressive young offensive talent in Rasmus Ristolainen, Zach Bogosian, Jacob Trouba, and Josh Morrissey.
The Jets also have a number of young players that can help the team create offense, including winger Christian Dvorak and defenseman Jacob Troub.
Chicago Blackhawks Chicago is not a team you can just expect to play with a bunch of good players.
They are going back to the style of play they were used to last season with their top players, like Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp.
The Blackhawks have a very talented young core.
The biggest question mark for the Blackhawks this season is goaltending.
The goaltending situation is going to be a big question mark going forward.
The answer to that will be decided when the Blackhawks take a closer look at their goaltending depth chart.
Buffalo Sabres The Sabres have been a perennial contender for a long time.
They were a top team in both the Eastern and Western Conference for
