Welcome to my daily update on life and happiness.
This week I’ll tell you how to change it.
I will also tell you why I’m happy, why you should be happy, and why you shouldn’t.
How do you change your daily life to be happy?
Take a step back.
This will be hard.
You’ll be feeling a lot of things at once.
But, I want you to take a step backwards and take a deep breath.
You are a lot more connected than you think you are.
You don’t have to be perfect to be more connected.
You can be perfect.
And when you’re feeling less connected, you’re less connected to other people.
I want us to be happier, and I want more connected people to be able to feel happier too.
I know that’s hard.
It’s not easy.
But it’s important.
It will make your life happier.
Listen to your gut.
You will probably feel differently than you want.
But you don’t need to change anything about your life.
You’re probably going to feel differently from today, tomorrow, or next week.
Just listen to your heart.
Start talking to yourself.
You might think that you need to be the centre of attention.
You need to have the most important conversations with your closest friends and your family.
But talk to yourself, not everyone.
Talk to yourself about things that are important to you.
For example, if you have anxiety or depression, talk to your partner, or your child.
You may be surprised how much you can find yourself talking to others about.
Give yourself a break.
This will be tough.
You won’t always be able.
But this is what you have to do.
You have to give yourself a chance to breathe.
You’ve got a lot going on in your life, and you have been getting distracted.
I like to say that you can take a breath every time you open your eyes and think about a new thing.
You want to take this opportunity to give your brain some space.
This can be hard at first, because you’re still feeling overwhelmed.
But when you let yourself breathe and start to think about the important things, it’s easy to relax.
Try to live a more meaningful life.
When you think about what you want to do and the life that you want, you will find that your happiness is far greater than what you think it is.
I love to hear how you feel.
Sometimes it’s really hard to find the words to describe what you’re thinking.
But one thing I love about listening to people is hearing what they are thinking about what they’re doing.
When I do that, I get a sense of what’s going on inside their heads.
I get to hear them as if they’re talking to themselves.
When they talk about their goals and goals for the future, it helps me to know what they actually want to achieve.
Read about yourself.
If you read anything about yourself, it will make you realise how much more connected you really are.
And that’s amazing.
You could have never found that connection in the first place.
So read what you read.
Read whatever you can.
I read books all the time.
I find books to be an excellent way to get my mind and heart into the most interesting parts of my life.
The book I read most often is My Name is Earl.
It takes me back to my childhood.
It was my first year of college.
I wanted to go to the University of Waterloo.
I thought it was going to be a wonderful experience.
But the experience wasn’t what I expected.
It wasn’t until I went back to that day that I realised how much I had changed in that year.
Take time for yourself.
When we’re busy, we are distracted.
When our minds are busy, our hearts are busy.
When both our minds and hearts are on a journey, we can feel our happiness rise to the surface.
When it comes to the people in your lives, I think it’s amazing that you don.
You know what?
It’s your whole life.
Every time you have a new opportunity to see them, to spend time with them, or just to connect with them.
When your mind is on a new project or task, you feel more connected to that person.
When all is going well in your daily routine, you find that you feel happier.
When everything is going right in your personal life, you are happier.
So take a moment to be yourself.
Life isn’t easy.
It can be challenging at times.
But if you give yourself time, and if you can relax, it’ll make your day much more enjoyable.
And the happier you are when you get back to your daily rhythm, the happier your
